Ezenwo Nyesom Wike

Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON, born December 13, 1967, is a Nigerian politician and lawyer, currently serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) since 2023. An Igbo-Ikwerre native from Umuepirikom in Rivers State, Wike is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member with a degree from Rivers State University of Science and Technology. He began his political career as a two-term Executive Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area (1999–2007) and later served as Minister of State for Education in 2011, becoming Acting Minister of Education. Wike resigned to run for Rivers State governor, a role he held from 2015 to 2023, implementing impactful infrastructure and economic reforms. In 2022, he ran for PDP’s presidential ticket, finishing as the runner-up. Appointed FCT Minister by President Bola Tinubu in 2023, Wike remains a key figure in Nigerian politics, renowned for his leadership and governance contributions.
